St Giles' Cripplegate

 

St Giles’ Cripplegate is an incredible London City church with early medieval fabric which survived considerable wartime damage. It became an architectural focus for the Masterplanning of the Barbican Estate by Chamberlin, Powell & Bon.

Kelley Christ of A&RME was appointed as Inspecting Architect to St Giles’ in 2015. Her first quinquennial inspection has informed subsequent projects of conservation-led repairs.

Current and recent projects:

  • Refurbishment of the Vestry, wcs and Office.
     
  • Repairs to the copper roof coverings of the north and south aisles and some masonry repairs which were supported by a grant from the Listed Places of Worship Roof Repair Fund.
